Meet Paula Mensah-Woode
Bestselling Author. International Speaker. Education Insider.
Meet Paula Mensah-Woode — one of those rare voices that stays with you long after you’ve left the room. For over 20 years, Paula has graced stages at colleges and schools locally and internationally, bringing a beautiful blend of warmth, conviction, and hard-won wisdom that can only come from someone who has truly lived the work.
Paula isn’t just a speaker who talks about education — she’s walked every corridor of it. As the Founder of Lifesprings Publishing, and as a board member for multiple charter schools and nonprofits, she’s sat at the table where real decisions happen — from policy writing and curriculum choices to enrollment strategies, staff engagement, and retention. She also works directly alongside school and nonprofit decision-makers, providing strategic planning that helps organizations not just survive, but truly thrive.
When Paula steps onto a stage, she does so with profound appreciation for the educators in the room — honoring their sacrifices, healing what’s worn thin, and reigniting the passion that brought them to this work. She doesn’t just uplift staff and students; she strengthens the very culture that makes schools thrive. She has a lilting way of weaving two decades of experience into every message she delivers — and audiences feel it.
When Golden Words Meet Silver Moments
To any student in the room, it was merely another six minutes slipping by. Unknown to me, destiny’s bridge was on the verge of unfolding.
I was hunched over my desk, playing it safe — three mediocre schools on my list. After all, if you expect nothing, you can’t be disappointed. Right?
Then I felt it. That unmistakable blend of authority and warmth every student in the building knew — right there behind me. My principal. He glanced at my list, and in that tone of his — unnerving and caring all at once — he said, “Come on. You’re better than that.”
He pointed to a school I hadn’t dared consider. One where dignitaries sent their children. My heart raced. Me? There?
It was no secret that the path to that school was either by inside connections or impeccable grades. For me, only one option existed: earning straight A’s through unwavering determination. In that pivotal moment, his gaze locked with mine, filled with unwavering faith. He emphatically said, “You can do this.” Those words echoed all day: “You’re better than that! You can do this!”
Years later, I would trace every turning point back to those six minutes — to the words of a man who believed in me before I believed in myself. We all knew he knew the Lord, but he didn’t preach a sermon. He spoke life in an unconventional way. Just like in the book of Esther, the wisdom of God lends us the means to communicate truth in every environment — and today I carry that same spirit forward, bringing hope and inspiration that lights up every school, every college hall I enter, because I know that:“When golden words meet silver moments, destiny bridges the impossible.” ~ Paula Mensah-Woode

Common Questions
Everything You Need to Know Before Booking
I know that choosing a speaker for your event, graduation or commencement is a big decision. Here are the questions I hear most often from event coordinators, principals and event coordinators — answered honestly.
What kinds of schools do you speak at?
I speak at public, charter schools built around character, and excellence, Christian and faith-based schools, and colleges and universities. Whether it’s a high school gym or a university arena, the heart of the message is the same — hope, gratitude, and the courage to move forward. My message is always politically neutral, family-appropriate, and designed to unify every person in the room.
Are your speeches appropriate for Christian or faith-based schools?
Do you talk about politics?
Never. Not once. I believe graduation day belongs to your students and your community — not to political commentary. My job is to leave every person in that room feeling hopeful, unified, and proud. Parents of every background should be able to sit back and enjoy the moment. That’s a promise I keep at every engagement.
What is your speaking fee?
My fee varies depending on the event type, location, and travel requirements. I believe every school deserves access to a quality speaker, so I’m happy to have a conversation and find something that works for your budget. Reach out through the contact form and we’ll get back to you within 24–48 hours with all the details.
How far in advance should we book?
Will you customize the speech for our school?
